Hold it over a leaf. Twist the collar until it's sharp. There it is on the 2-inch screen, up to 1000 times bigger. A bug's head, thorax and abdomen. What's living in a rotting leaf. Press the button and it takes a photo.

Bring it on the walk, out the back garden, to the beach, in the car to Granny's. It fits in one hand and runs about 2 hours a charge. Just don't take it on a walk unless you're happy to go nowhere fast.

Most screens pull kids in and keep them there. SPOTTA does the opposite. The 2-inch screen only shows what's under the lens, so there's nothing to scroll, nothing to download and no internet. The fun is on the ground, not on the screen.

One Twist and It's Clear

Most microscopes need a steady hand and a grown-up. SPOTTA doesn't. If it's blurry, twist the ribbed collar on the side and it comes clear. Eight LED lights around the lens light up whatever's under it.

Their Own Photos, Not Your Phone

Kids want your phone because it takes pictures. SPOTTA takes pictures. One press and the photo's saved on the microscope, about 200 of them, and it records video too. Plug it into a Windows or Mac computer with the cable in the box to copy them off.

Every Walk Turns Into a Bug Hunt

Most new toys are forgotten by the weekend. A microscope doesn't run out of things to look at. Every leaf, feather, rock and beetle on the walk is something new at up to 1000x, and they'll stop for all of them. Eight times out of ten, you'll get to finish your coffee.
